On Writing

For the past four years, I have wondered why God called me to write devotions.  It was quite different than what I wanted to write (which are very different than each other) – books for first readers, young adults, and horror.

But I followed His lead. It took me a while to fall in love with this type of writing, but now I see the world in devotional topics.

I finally have the why.

Many people I know are attending the National Youth Gathering in different leadership and speaking roles. As I see the amazing things they are doing there by following them on social media, It makes me want to be part of something amazing like that.

So, I said to God, “I want to be part of something bigger”.  I want to be part of something that effects thousands of lives for the better.  That is when he gave me my why.

I already am.  Well, maybe not thousands, at least not yet.  But I am on my way.

THIS is why I write devotions.

I write to touch lives. I write to inspire.  I write to share my faith. I write to share Christ.

Above all, I write devotions to give hope to others.
