Psalm 33 says, “Sing to Him a new song.” When I read this line, I asked myself, what song have I been singing? The answer was that it was not a happy, joyful, praise the Lord song. Honestly, the song has been one of questions, pleas, and confusion.
You know what I learned? Those songs are okay. It’s okay to sing at the top of your lungs to Him, whatever the lyrics may be. The trick is not be drown yourself in those lyrics.
Sing to Him a new song! Change the lyrics, dance to a new beat, feel the new rhythm in the very depth of your soul.
Let go and dwell in the hope found in Him and all He has done for us.
I well remember them,
and my soul is downcast within me.
21 Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
