A Poetic Reflection on Psalm 5:3

“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”  Psalm 5:3

Breathing in the morning air,

I lay my requests before you.

Presenting them, lifting them up

To your awaiting ears – confidently, expectantly.

I will wait to hear your voice,

The soft whisper which speaks to my heart.

I am hopeful.

My head has been lifted from the pillow,

My words lifted from my mouth,

Rising up like incense, they fall gently on your altar.

My soul is at peace.

Note: Psalm 5:3 is a beautiful verse to read in the different translations of the Bible. The above piece was used combining language I found in various ones. The verse itself is truly poetic.
