She turned the brass knob with her shaking hand, pulling the front door open with a fierce temerity, letting in the icy midnight air. The fears and challenges of the previous year were forced out the front door. New opportunities for the new year were welcomed in a tradition in her culture. Her grandfather clock chimed twelve o’clock hour from the makeshift dining room, ringing in 365 new chances.
