Fictitious Friday

Below is a paragraph from the story I am working on. Enjoy!

Evelyn could feel the anticipation in her rise as the cemetery came into view. It seemed farther than it was from the place where she left Vivian. She had traded the perfectly designed cobblestone road for a narrow country road running behind the town. Evelyn walked along the edge, consistently looking over her shoulder for any cars coming from behind. None were to be found. As the cemetery grew closer, her pace quickened, as if she had to get there before it disappeared.
