Stillness.
An eerie calm settles in as blades cease to spin.
Murky water sits -vacant, placid.
There is nowhere to go.
The morning light brings forth contradiction.
She looks down at the mud between her toes –
the dry earth now swallowed into the mouth of yesterday’s storm.
Only now is there stillness.
Only now is there nothing but quiet.
She sees her reflection,
and shatters it with her finger,
sending ripples through its silence.

This is gorgeous Raelyn. You have set a strong scene. I feel as if I am standing there in the silence myself. Thank you for joining us at the Muse!

Raelyn, you inhabit that space. Shattering the reflection with her finger is brilliant.

This so powerful. I think we have all been in that place of aftermath, but you has so beautifully, poetically expressed it.
